19th Century Mahogany Davenport

A mid 19th Century Mahogany Davenport of excellent quality and condition.  The well figured mahogany and quality of cabinet making indicates a first rate maker such as Gillows or Holland and Son.  The pull forward writing slop has two real and two dummy drawers within.  Side pen drawer with original solid Rosewood pen slide plus two ink bottles.  The desk has two pull out slides, one on each side, and two dummy slides.  The writing slope and slides retain their original tooled leather surface.  The drawers on the right hand side are mahogany lined and have Bramah locks.  The left hand side drawer fronts are false.  The desk stands on its original small bun feet with recessed brass castors.
