Chippendale Period Mahogany Chest of Drawers

A very good Chippendale period Chest of Drawers, constructed throughout in Mahogany and the drawer fronts faced with the choicest ‘Fiddle Back’ timber.  The chest is of restrained design and a good ‘Country House’ size.  The two short and three long, graduated drawers all retain their original brass swan loop handles, escutcheons and locks.  The drawers are mahogany lined. The chest stands on shaped bracket feet.

Note: For a similar chest of drawers see the Dumfries House Catalogue and, in particular, lot 106, vol 1 page 285 and lot 153, vol 2 pages 16/17.
