An Impressive Red Walnut Open Armchair, George ll circa 1750.

A chair of great presence.  The scrolled cresting rail is set above  a flared, pierced splat with interesting inter-looping. The pistol grip arms and shaped uprights are all above a loose drop-in seat and a shaped apron to three sides.  The rear swept legs are united by a turned stretcher and the front cabriole shaped legs are ‘C’ scrolled and end in pad feet.  Excellent condition and colour  A collectors gem.
